Are You Eligible?
You may qualify for Healthy San Francisco if you are ALL of the following:
- Living on a combined family income at or below 500% of the Federal Poverty Level. Find out if you meet the income requirements.
- A San Francisco resident who can provide proof of San Francisco residency*;
- Uninsured for at least 90 days**;
- Not eligible for public insurance programs such as Medi-Cal or Medicare***
- Age 18 or over
If eligible, you may join Healthy San Francisco regardless of immigration status, employment status or pre-existing medical conditions.
*Residency is defined as living in the City of San Francisco with the intent to reside permanently. Individuals living temporarily in San Francisco on an active I-94 form are not eligible for Healthy San Francisco.
**There are some exceptions to this rule for people who have lost their health insurance coverage due to job loss, and end of COBRA coverage or employer-provided coverage, or no longer being eligible for insurance purchased through a spouse or dependent.
***Healthy San Francisco participants who are eligible for Covered California and choose not to enroll may be subject to a penalty for not having health insurance.
